The Lesson
The Lesson

OVERVIEW:
Out of 5 cards, 2 are Major Arcana, 1 is Wands, 1 is Pentacles, and 1 is Swords. This is an important issue that has more to do with career and personal growth than with interpersonal relations.
CARD 1: The Issue (and where we find ourselves)
The Tower THE TOWER: Our worldview can be seen as a tower we construct, brick by brick, out of opinions we form from our experiences. The taller this tower is, the more rigid our outlook on life. The more rigid our outlook on life, the more it limits our potential. When this ideological tower comes crashing down, it would seem that reality itself is crumbling around us, when really it is reality being exposed. Sudden, irreversible change is seldom a pleasant experience. But it is necessary to clear away old constructs so that new, truer foundations could form.
CARD 2: Inside Influences (the workings of our inner world)
Page of Wands Page of Wands: This card refers to a person you know, an aspect of your own personality, or even an event. This person is fiery and passionate, intense and motivated. They are a blazing torch in times of darkness, a beacon of hope and inspiration. They are courageous, loyal, and bold. They bring new beginnings, good news, and creativity. You are feeling this Page's enthusiasm right now, and it is driving you to express yourself.
CARD 3: Outside Influences (what is going on around us)
Strength STRENGTH: This is a card of moral strength, not physical force. It is the flowering of self-esteem and staying true to the values you hold dear. Its positions being Outside Influences, this speaks of the environment you find yourself in. You are surrounded by people who appreciate and support what you do. They love you and encourage you to take pride in your accomplishments. It is a very strong, nurturing base from which to develop the talents of the Page of Wands.
CARD 4: The Lesson (what must be understood before we can proceed)
3 of Wands 3 of Wands: This is a card of mastery. Whether it is improving your skills at your job, at a hobby, or a talent you possess, you are great at what you do and it is being noticed by those around you. There is a time for modesty and there is time to claim the credit you're due, and this is your time to shine. The lesson here is that if you do not show confidence in your work, others may take advantage of you or pass you by. Do not shrink away from the respect you deserve.
CARD 5: The Outcome (if the Lesson is learned)
9 of Swords 9 of Swords: This is a card of despair and unfounded fears. 'Unfounded' being the key word here. You stress too much, analyze too much, and immobilize yourself with worst case scenarios before even trying whatever it is you're worried about. This kind of self-defeating, self-destructive attitude eats away at all the energy you could be using to act. You may be afraid of success, afraid of failure, afraid of responsibility, or not feel worthy of the opportunities available to you.
SYNTHESIS:

The Lesson here is reaching your potential. This hits with a bang on the very first card: The Tower. The Tower has the power to shake up your world so that outdated modes of thought can fall away. They may have helped you in the past, but now they are only holding you back. Welcome the new wave of enthusiasm that the Page of Wands brings. It can be a light amidst inner chaos. The Page initiates new beginnings, and your current environment is a very stable place to nurture the changes you are going through.

It is time to stand up and be counted. Know that the praise you receive for your work is not empty flattery, but a sincere evaluation of your talents. Everyone else can see that you are skilled, competent, and deserving of respect, so why can't you? Perhaps it is the self-defeating attitude that The Tower card seeks to dismantle. It may have been a coping mechanism that kept you safe in the past, but now it is out of control and draining your soul's desire to advance.
